This is a wonderful conversion of two windmills (which
can be rented either separately or together) carefully
restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation in
the unspoilt Portugal.
The windmills are set on top of a hill, next to each
other, being ideal for a large party wanting to explore
the Minho region and its sandy beaches. Both mills have
views over a valley and distant views to the sea.
Flanked by lush green pine forests, the old fishing
village of Esposende with some fine old buildings, airy
town squares and sandy beaches, is about 12 kilometres
away. Barcelos, one of the liveliest cities in the
north of Portugal and the ceramics centre of Portugal,
is about 20 kilometres distant. The town's large weekly
market held every Thursday is remarkable.
The World heritage site of Porto is about 30 minutes
drive away. As the windmills are very identical,
only one is described below.
