Classified as a world
heritage site and steeped in almost two thousand years
of history. The oldest sight in Evora is the Temple of
Diana which dates back from the 2nd or 3rd century AD.
The temple is
presumed to have been built as a place of imperial
worship. The Cathedral is a rather austere building. Its
granite, Romano-Gothic-style façade was built in the
12th century, while its main portal and the two grand
conical towers were added in the 16th century.
